Magelungen Utveckling is an employee-owned company that offers qualified treatment and change work for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. About us
We are a resource high school, a small school with a great commitment to students who are in extensive need of special support. We work with clear external structure and predictability in a calm environment. Teaching takes place in smaller classes by well-educated and competent teachers in a cohesive and structured environment.
The students we meet often have a background with social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric challenges. Some students may have a long history of school absenteeism. To help these young people achieve a functioning school life, we work with small scale, high staff density, an enhanced student health team, and individually designed programs. We start from each student's conditions and needs. We have a clarifying structure and a salutogenic perspective where the focus is on working with the whole and building on what works. Our goal is to offer a context where all students can get a chance to succeed based on their conditions.
About the position
As a vocational teacher in the Child and Leisure Program, you will be responsible for teaching vocational subjects, supporting students' development through mentorship, and actively collaborating with colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate teaching. You will follow the students' workplace-based education (APL) through visits and tri-party conversations with supervisors to ensure high quality in their APL. Together with your colleagues, you will work with co-assessment, co-planning, and project work to create the best possible conditions for students' learning and future professional life.
Qualifications
You are a licensed vocational teacher and/or trained preschool teacher with experience working with students in need of special support. We are looking for a structured, creative, and proactive person who enjoys collaborating with others. You work from a relational perspective in your work with students and demonstrate good pedagogical insight by adapting teaching based on students' needs and opportunities for development. You easily empathize with others' perspectives and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. You have a strong value base, a low-arousal approach, and experience in meeting challenging youth. Knowledge, experience, and interest in teaching Basic Care and Support and LSS are meritorious.
Employment form
Permanent full-time position. We apply a probationary period of the first 6 months.
